Niagara Falls


The Niagara Falls, is one of the most famous waterfalls in the world. It consists of three parts: two in New York, USA separated by Luna Island. Its largest section in Ontario, Canada separated from the American side by Goat Island. The American side of The Falls is called American Falls (larger) and Bridal Veil Falls, while the Canadian side is better known as Horseshoe Falls or Canadian Falls.

The Niagara falls is impressive in size and presents breath-taking views. The spot is a popular tourist attraction and offers many amenities such as accommodation, places to dine, wineries, shopping, all kinds of fun activities for the family, and it is also a popular honeymoon destination. It is important to note that apart from its remarkable contribution to tourism, the Niagara Falls are also used as a source of hydroelectric power being the most powerful waterfall in the region.

History

The Niagara River is known to have existed since the last Ice Age which is close to almost 200 centuries ago. With time, the ice melted and about 12’500 years ago ice there was no longer any ice on the Niagara Peninsula.
